One Factory down, many more to come!

It was amazing to see such a mix of people from different backgrounds at the first IN4.0 Factory: Additive Manufacturing.

From electricians to engineers, students and academics and many more, there was a wide array of present and future manufacturers in attendance at the Creative Innovation Zone at UCLan’s Media Factory.

We heard some inspiring speeches from the leaders in the field of Additive Manufacturing.

Paul Croft, Director of Ultimaker GB, told fascinating stories of how 3D printing has transformed businesses across the world, not just on Return on Investment.

Melissa Snover, Managing Director and Founder of Magic Candy Factory, was also inspiring as she discussed her entrepreneurial journey to creating the world’s first 3D food printer.

Jenny Manning gave an insight into how BAE Systems are using Additive Manufacturing, while Dr Hadley Brooks relayed the tremendous opportunity that working with institutions like UCLan can provide.

Following a panel discussion, where the keynote speakers answered the audience’s burning questions, we had three industry workshops.

Paul Croft, Jenny Manning and experts from Renishaw and Photocentric were the workshop hosts, and delegates were given the chance to discuss problems, solutions and challenges of Additive Manufacturing on a more intimate level.

Magic Candy Factory’s stand was popular throughout the event, with live demonstrations of 3D printing sweets, some of which the delegates were lucky enough to take home with them.

We’d also like to thank you our delegates for the great feedback that they gave us. We want to make the next Factory even better and your input is very much appreciated!

Although our feet are still recovering after two action packed days of exhibiting, the IN4.0 team are no-less invigorated by the response to our stand at the Smart Factory Expo 2018!

Our booth was located in the centre of the exhibition, on Innovation Alley, and we were at the heart of the action, giving us the opportunity to meet like-minded professionals from across the industry.

We met countless manufacturers, engineers, students and academics from across multiple sectors, all seeking the same goals as IN4.0 – to innovate and disrupt in our own spaces.

The Smart Factory Expo was also a great opportunity for us to spread the word about our upcoming events. These include our Factory Network event on 5th December that focuses on Additive Manufacturing and our Masterclass on 15th January for business owners.

We also held two prize draws where exhibition attendees had the opportunity to win a Time 2 Android Tablet. The first tablet was awarded to Steven Stocks of UL on Wednesday and on Thursday, Nadine Uwigena-Mudatsikira from the University of Chester won the second tablet. Both winners will be receiving their prizes in the post soon and we hope you enjoy them!

Jurgen Maier, CEO of Siemens UK, also stopped by our booth for a photo. Jurgen is the co-chair of the Made Smarter Commission and their North West Pilot was launched on the first day of the Expo. It is key to establishing the North West as the benchmark of future innovation.

Mo Isap, CEO of IN4.0, said: “The Smart Factory Expo was a fantastic two day event that showcased the best manufacturing innovations. We’re in the foothills of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and by seizing this great opportunity we will be able to secure growth for many generations to come as our predecessors did in the past manufacturing revolutions.”

Don’t forget- there are still places left for our Factory Network event- sign up for FREE here.

With less than a week to go, the IN4.0 team are gearing up for our appearance at the Smart Factory Expo, Europe’s Biggest Digital Manufacturing event, at the Liverpool Exhibition Centre.

The exhibition, which runs over the 14th and 15th November, brings together the industry’s most pioneering innovators into one space, showcasing the brightest and best of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. We are delighted to have a stand on Innovation Alley, alongside some of the UK’s most innovative technology start-ups. We will be at the heart of the Expo, with Innovation Alley running through the centre of the exhibition. You will find us at Stand P11, on the outer edge of the alley, opposite the Sage and Mazak booths.

Stopping by our booth will put you in with the chance to win a brand new Time2 Google tablet, worth £69.95! Just place your business card in our stand’s basket to be entered into the draw.

At our stand you will also have the chance to meet the team and find out more about how we can grow your business and create sustainable excellence. You will be able to register for our upcoming Factory Event taking place on the 5th December at UCLan, Preston. This particular Factory will focus on Additive Manufacturing and the practical applications of the technology. The IN4.0 team will also be on hand at Innovation Alley to guide you through our client journey and discuss how you or your business could benefit.

We are also delighted to announce that our CEO Mo Isap will be speaking at the exhibition, in a presentation entitled: ‘Industry 4.0: A Once in a Generation Opportunity.’ Mo will be speaking at the Industrial Automation Solutions Theatre at 11.30am on Thursday 15th November.

We’re looking forward to seeing you at Stand P11, Innovation Alley!
